Four contests are being held in the Azores on the best products incorporating local building and demolition waste. The contestants‘ task is to design new products from recovered building and demolition waste. We encourage all creatives reading this to participate!
The products need to incorporate at least one of the waste types listed below:
- ABS-plastic
- Styrofoam/extruded polystyrene (EPS)
- Plasterboard
- Wood
- Recycled aggregates
- Glass
The four contests have the following themes:
- Surfaces and coatings
- Street furniture
- Indoor furniture
- Free theme
Each of the winning projects will receive 1500 Euros. The contests are a part of the ReBuild17 project which is a collaboration of Fibrenamics Azores, the Innovation Center for Advanced Material Products (CIMPA), ReSource International, and the Regional Government of the Azores (specifically its Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructure, Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory (LREC) and the Regional Directorate for Environment and Climate Change).
